Jackie Oh
April 23, 1998 ~ August 3, 2009
How do you begin to honor spirit, love, and joy embodied in ten pounds of fur,  heart, and expression?
We all have photos of those favorite terriers,
These are of our Jackie. She was our first,
and while my name was as official owner,
She chose Don as her official human.
She took us hunting...  She gave us puppies...
she ran like the wind... and lived life full tilt.
She comforted us when we grieved...  made us laugh when we needed a smile.  She taught us about life...
we learned to go down the road,  and she introduced us to humans that we count among our dearest friends.

There were heartaches when she lost a litter, when
she came close to passing on because of a bad chew bone, and again at her passing.
She never did anything part way or ordinary.

It was only because of her that we were introduced to Jack Russell Club of America.
We tried every event at trials because of Jackie.
She excelled in all divisions... especially racing.
In October a special group of our dear friends and her admirers honored her with a speical award at the Nationals banquet. A National perpetual trophy will carry her name.
She inspired us to invite terrier enthusiasts from across the country to come to Colorado and Arizona
to compete at trials we have chaired.
It was because of Jackie...
SHE  WAS THE REASON THERE IS WEST ELK...
it always will be because of her.
Don said it best,  "throw the ball a few more times,
you never know when it may be the last..."
Love your terriers...

 West Elk Kitty...
 West Elk Speck...

 Her legacy will live on...
Jackie Oh took her last walk on Friday, August 7th, and she joined our border collie-Sis,
who was her babysitter, mentor, and best friend.
They lay at rest high in our loved Rocky Mountains..
But we know they will be busy chasing balls and Frisbees
across the Rainbow....
